Spider plants (
Chlorophytum comosum) are houseplants that will improve indoor air quality so we got ourselves a few. It has a nice white flower. It is said that this plant is an easy plant to care for so let's see whether we can grow more pots of this plant in one year's time.
Oh, is it easy to plant this indoors? Flowers really can beautify the house... my house has artificial flowers only.. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll let you know after one year. :) Actually it seldoms flower.
DeleteWow! Beautiful. I love real flowers compred to fake flowers but you got tp have times to maintain them. Then they really beautify the house.
ReplyDeleteYa, I prefer real flowers in pots to fake ones too.
DeleteI no fate with real flowers, real flowers that comes to me will.....
ReplyDeleteHehe, I am not the gardener here.
DeleteI've cactus for indoor plant!!! =]
ReplyDeleteCactus is a hardy plant. You don't need to water it often.
DeleteDoes it really give good indoor air? If yes, then I should find one of this instead of investing in air purifier :)
ReplyDeleteActually to some articles I read, yes.
Deleteoh I would love live flowers in the house.
ReplyDeleteLive flowers in pots better than cut live flowers, I think.
DeleteOoo okie will look into this. Wanna get some plants for indoor too
ReplyDeleteNice to have some plants indoors.
DeleteWe r totally into spider plants! But I guess you know that already :D interestingly (kind of) we learned about those plants being good for air quality from an article in Konsumer Malaysia (I think it was - in any case it was a Malaysian publication) years ago... I think better than electronic air purifiers though we have both the plants n the electronic stuff (which were gifts)... But well we live in highly-polluted HK... When I first worked here after 10yrs in Singapore I was always coughing n sneezing and it got a bit better when I put either a spider plant or money plant (apparently also quite good for cleaning the air) on my desk... Size matters though, I had to go as big as I could without ppl thinking I was nuts (but actually some bosses in some places I worked even leased huge leafy money plants... And on an aside, leasing them is better for offices because if they die the company that leased them is required to replace them FOC... My beloved Aussie boss was even calling them to complain if the leased plants weren't leafy enough!)
ReplyDeleteHi Aileen,
DeleteYes, I remember reading about them on your blog and recently the essay by Rockstar. Make sense to lease indoor plants for an office. Better air, better output from the employees.
It's a beautiful flower Mun.
ReplyDeleteI used to have spider plants in my classroom because I'd heard they were good for purifying the air. I loved it when the little baby spiders would sprout out.
