Upper Cross Syndrome
I have just been told casually that I have Upper Cross Syndrome (UCS) so I looked up more information about this.
UCS is when you have rounded shoulders and your head juts forward when you walk. Quite true for me so I am going to have to read more about this and correct it. Do you know anyone who have UCS?
For more details on identifying UCS, here is an online article about Identifying Upper Cross Syndrome.
And for details on how to treat UCS, here is the online article about Treating Upper Cross Syndrome. You may pick and choose what to apply for yourself if your UCS is not that serious but I am not the expert here though I am not sure where to find the expert about UCS here.

New year, new blog
Hello everyone, how is your 1st day of 2014? Good I hope. Any new year resolution?
As for me, I want to be posting daily so I have created a new blog to talk about food because food is meant to be shared and I will try to be Wenn and post daily. Although it is supposed to be about food but I may post other subjects on it too because if I live to eat, I will only talk about food but if I eat to live, I like other things too so I will talk about other subjects. Hope all of you will visit my new blog muntalksfood.blogspot.com and leave me a comment. Thank you!

Sweet lunch
There are days when I don't feel like eating due to the hot weather so I'll have an orange for breakfast and a block of chocolate ice-cream on a slice of wholemeal bread for lunch. I'll start with the ice cream and after I have finished eating the ice cream, I will eat the slice of bread with melted ice cream on it. This way, my plate stays clean and not a single drop of ice cream is wasted.

Knowing me
Today I am pleasantly surprised to see my name being mentioned in this post by M in her "Living Dizzy" blog. Thank you, M! I’ve been reading M's blog and also her previous blog for some time now and find her to be a strong lady who has overcome many obstacles living with pain and dizziness.
So in appreciation of this mention, I will participate and reveal 7 things about myself that my blogger friends might not know.
Seven Things You May Not Know About Me.
One:
I was told that when I was about 6 months old, my mother left me alone for a while in a stroller in our garden. When she came back for me, she saw a monkey hugging me (my face facing her chest) with me still sitting in the stroller. She shouted and chased the monkey away. In the haste of a quick getaway, the monkey accidentally scratched my forehead which needed 3 stitches.
So now I have a very faint scar on my forehead. No, unlike Harry Potter, it does not glow and no, I can't understand monkeys chatters.
Two:
I dislike the house geckos (house lizards) because they kept dropping onto my head from the ceiling when I was young.
Three:
I can eat a bowl of 8 tablespoons of instant oatmeal mixed with plain hot water with ease at one go so as long as there is a packet of instant oatmeal and a bowl of plain hot water, I won't die of hunger.
Four:
One night, while I was sleeping in my University hostel, I woke up from sleep with a terrible stomach pain and couldn't sleep after that. In the morning, when the pain had subsided a bit, I walked to the clinic alone and was diagnosed with appendicitis.
Five:
I have traveled 3 times in an ambulance with the siren on: 1. I was the patient. 2. I was accompanying my late father. 3. I was accompanying my spouse.
Six:
When I was young, I wanted to be the Magical Princess Gigi.
Seven:
My favourite colour is red.
That's all. Thanks again M!

Year of the hair
1993 was the year when my all one-length hair was at its longest. I kept it at almost-waist length for a year only as taking care of it was time consuming.I don't even remember how long it took my hair to grow to that length. Now that I have decided to keep my hair short forever, these photos are all that remains of my longest hair days.
Update: My spouse just read this entry and said that my long hair looks like those ghosts in traditional chinese ghost movies, hahaha!

New year wishes
Once again, here's wishing everyone a Happy New Year! May all of us face the challenges ahead in 2011 with renewed courage and optimism.Just one more month before Chinese New Year. Time for me to start buying CNY goodies for my parents-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law. This time I aim to buy all the goodies in one go at one shop so that I do not need to make many trips to the shops.
For 2011, I requested my youngest brother to give me a hair cut - to cut it as short as he dares to cut and this is what I get. Do you think he should have cut it shorter? :D

Wo shi shei, 我是谁, who am I?
I am not going to write a review on Jackie Chan's movie entitled Wo shi shei (Who am I?)我是谁 here. This is about me.
When strangers meet me and want to get to know me, the two common questions they would ask me is what my name is and what do I do. What they really want to know from the second question is what my job is. So I will address the latter question here.
1. My job:
I have taken myself out of the job market voluntarily since August last year so I am jobless or jobfree at the moment and I do not expect to be looking for another job anytime soon until it is really necessary (read: low on fuel).
They would not ask me about my gender/sex because they can see for themselves that I am a woman. If they look at my hands, they would see that I am not wearing a wedding ring so they would think that I am not married. Well, in that case, they would be wrong. I have been married for 10 years now to a man whom I have dated since I was 20 years old. 18 years is a long time to be with someone but there are still two more years to go before:
his years with me = his years without me
After knowing all these facts, they would smile knowingly and say "Ah, so you are a housewife." Those who are politically correct would use the word "homemaker" while those trying to be smart would say "home minister" instead of "housewife". Then they would proceed to ask "how many children do you have?" to which I would replied "none".
At this stage, they would be torn between politeness and curiosity. In their heart, they would like to know why I do not have any children but they are afraid to ask because they do not know me well enough to ask personal questions such as:
a) Is it due to health reason?
- am I infertile?
- is my spouse infertile?
- what treatment have I undergone?
- what did the doctor say?
b) Is it by choice?
- If it is, why?
- whose choice - mine or my spouse?
c) am I still waiting for the right time while my biological clock is ticking away?
They are also afraid their questions may bring back sad memories of miscarriages (if there were any) so most of them would just stop at that.
