Another one day to go and it will be Chinese New Year! Here's wishing everyone who celebrates Chinese New Year, Gong Xi Fa Cai (Mandarin). May all of you have a prosperous year!
Here are the (foc) ang pow packets that were given to me. I have yet to fill them with money to be given out during CNY. This new year is the year of the snake but only two packets have snake-related design - one with cute snakes and one with a scary looking snake. I like the pink one best.

Those are so pretty! Ash told me today that she doesn't like snakes. I asked her why and she said, "They scare me." Makes me wonder what she's seen or heard because she hasn't experienced a real snake. I picked them up and played with them as a kid.
ReplyDeletePerhaps she read a book about them. I have seen real snakes in my childhood home when I was a little girl but as they are wild poisonous snakes, I did not pick them up to play with them.

Deleteyou collect angpau packets? Did you see the ones from Midvalley...they are in velvet "purse" so nice. a friend gave me 5 pcs. I sayang to use
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't really collect them. I will try to use all of them but usually there will be leftovers. No, I did not get those from Midvalley. I don't think I spent enough to qualify to get those.

The angpow packets usually have animal designs so I can't recycle them for the next year. Usually I will have many leftovers to make lanterns for next year.
