Saving by cooking

My partner and I cooked almost all of our meals when we were living in Newbury because eating out was very, very expensive. I even skinned a whole chicken once and took photos as proof :-) as that was my one and only time.

To make it interesting, I did my best to keep the whole skin and whole chicken intact. I did it by looking up instructions on how to skin a chicken from the web. I like my chicken soup to be not so oily therefore the skin and fat must go.

Now, I no longer cook as I do not like to cook. After 4 years of cooking, I have had enough. Perhaps one day, I may discover the joy of cooking. When that happens, I will of course blog about it here but I do not think that day will come.

  2. Hi April, you mean you like to eat the skin? If so, I'll keep the whole skin for you the next time I skin a chicken. :-)

  3. Good skill [skining the chicken]!!!

Don't treat cooking as a boring chore. More correctly, just cook when you have mood. I also only just cook 2-3 times in one week only.

  4. Hi Elizebeth D.L, thanks! Ya, I'll take your advice and try not to see cooking as a chore. But almost all the time I have no mood to cook.

  6. I only cook once in a blue moon and imagine how rare is that! and still very much at the infant stage, all ingredients are pre-prepared. I wouldn't say cooking is my hobby but perhaps one of my trial and error projects. hehe...added you in my blogroll :)

  7. somehow, the picture of the skin makes me go... "EWWWW....".... I can imagine the touch, the smell & etc. LOls...

I tried to like cooking but failed miserably. So nowadays, I just cook whenever I feel like it. ;) At least this way, I'll enjoy it.

  8. think like this -- your hubby enjoyed your cooking very much, he enjoyed your soup, your dishes, this is the motivation to keep us wife to continue cooking! hehehe...

  9. Thanks for dropping by my blog. I once said to myself too that I hate cooking to much and will never do it. Its much cheaper in KL to eat outside! But it all changes just magically once I had my son. I just felt like learning and cooking and baking for him and my hubby. Strange huh?
