Goodbye Dina

Dina
21 December 1997 - 24 July 2014
16+ Years Old

Beloved Companion.
You will always be in our thoughts.

Last days

Dina drinking soup as she needed more fluid.

The vet gave us the above for us to administer Subcutaneous Fluids (SQ) to her as she needed it but as the days went by, she became weaker and weaker. We were told that her kidneys were failing. The only humane course of action is to say goodbye and put her to sleep to end her sufferings and it was done at the vet this afternoon. She outlived her twin brother by 2+ years.

Final resting place in our front garden with these beautiful flowers.

Not enough sleep?

Now that football fever is on, many people are very sleepy during the day because they stay up to watch the games late night. So please be careful when driving. By the looks of it, I think Netherlands will win the World Cup this time.

Beautiful flowers to wake you up

Back then...

When I was young, I used to buy bread and snacks from vendors selling them on motorcycles but now I don't do this anymore as I buy all my food from grocery stores at the local mall. So seeing the motorcyclist below with his bread and snacks hanging all over his motorcycle recently makes me think of my younger days.

Do you still buy bread and snacks from the roti-man on his motorcycle? Roti means bread in the Malay Language.

How does he balance his motorcycle with so many packs of bread and snacks hanging on it, I wonder.

Transform

Are you a fan of the Transformers? I did not know that there is a new movie coming out soon until I saw the promotion - Giant Transformers being displayed in Midvalley Megamall.

Upper Cross Syndrome

I have just been told casually that I have Upper Cross Syndrome (UCS) so I looked up more information about this.

UCS is when you have rounded shoulders and your head juts forward when you walk. Quite true for me so I am going to have to read more about this and correct it. Do you know anyone who have UCS?

For more details on identifying UCS, here is an online article about Identifying Upper Cross Syndrome.

And for details on how to treat UCS, here is the online article about Treating Upper Cross Syndrome. You may pick and choose what to apply for yourself if your UCS is not that serious but I am not the expert here though I am not sure where to find the expert about UCS here.

Mindful

I have been reading many blog posts about soon-to-be-parents expecting their bundle of joy but how many of them are actually mindful of their very heavy responsibilities as parents? Not that many, I would say so I am pleased to read an article entitled:

"Do unto others as you would have them do to you – the parenting edition."

where Kimberly who is expecting her first child realises this and shares about it. Seldom I see people with this deep insight into parenting especially the part where I have highlighted with blue text in the excerpt of her article below so I am sharing her words here with you. Please find the first portion of her post below:

Do unto others as you would have them do to you – the parenting edition.

Please click this link to continue reading the rest of her post.

I really hope that more parents or parents-to-be are as mindful as her.
